It was an immense pleasure to get to know Chantale Lussier. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity of knowing an extraordinary woman who has dedicated herself to human beings. Her love of life can be read on her face every time you meet. She brought to our team a breath of fresh air, joy, positivity, and especially confidence. The discourse that Chantale holds, is one that is grounded, based on the philosophy of doing what we do fueled by passion, for the love of our sport. Her perspectives led the way to a sense of confidence in our process, on the work that we do week to week, well before the competitive event: Have confidence in your training, trust your strengths, your teammates, and last but not least trust the team’s vision and plan. Finally, she encouraged us to trust the present moment. Thank you so much Chantale for your incredible support, your work, and your contagious joy for life along with the confidence you brought to our U18 Women’s National Team 2011-2012. As an athlete who has represented Canada on the international stage, I have had the privilege to receive support from Chantale Lussier… Our very first meeting she created a nonjudgmental and safe environment in which I felt comfortable and respected. She had an incredible listening ear and a gentle approach to teaching me necessary and key skills to allow me to be at my best… During the last four years working with Chantale she has provided me the tools I have needed to achieve my potential and my goals. She taught me various strategies and techniques that have been vital to my mental game. No matter whether I was in North America or if I was competing overseas, Chantale has always been available in the times I have needed her for support. Chantale has taught me how to believe in myself more than I ever did, to see sport as not only a competition but a journey, provided the tools for me to change negatives into positives and to embrace the challenges ahead. As I have recently transitioned out of sport and into the working world, Chantale has graciously been a part of supporting my new path in life. Chantale exudes positivity, joy and compassion. In my athletic career I have never worked with a mental performance consultant (MPC) who works harder than Chantale to help me attain my optimal mental performance, who nurtures and puts my well-being at the forefront of everything and has been so patient in my growth not only as an athlete but as person outside of sport. I am so grateful that Chantale has held herself to the highest of standards in her field as well because in every single meeting I feel her passion for what she does flow out throughout our conversations.

Chantale and I have collaborated on a number of successful projects together over the past 5 years. Chantale has an innate ability to listen and lead. Not only does she have an intellectual thought process but her background as an elite dancer allows her to understand the athlete’s mindset. I trust and send all my athletes to Chantale.

K1 Slalom, Senior National Team
I have had the pleasure of working with Chantale Lussier for six years, over the course of which she has continually gone above and beyond the duties of a mental performance consultant (MPC) to help me through the many highs and lows I have encountered in my sport and in my life. When I began working with Chantale, we met once every couple of weeks and she quickly became one of my biggest role models. I felt so inspired by the ideas we talked about together, and as she shared her wisdom and positive outlook on the world with me, my confidence and determination grew quickly. That first season that Chantale and I started working together was the first year I made the Senior National Slalom Kayak Team. Qualifying for the Canadian Team had been my dream for as long as I can remember, and I strongly believe that I could not have achieved what I did that season without Chantale. With her support I have managed to qualify for the team every year since, representing Canada on the world stage. Over the next few years, I changed a lot both as a person and as an athlete. Chantale became not only someone I looked to for inspiration and guidance, but someone I trusted implicitly with the thoughts that made me feel the most vulnerable. Even though I spend months each year training and competing abroad, she always makes an effort to stay connected and to offer me her support. Through these times, Chantale remained supportive, compassionate, professional and creative, and continued to offer me her extraordinary insight. It is obvious that Chantale takes a genuine interest in my sport and in my well being. She has even taken the time to come paddling with me so that she can better understand my sport and my passion. I can say without any doubt that Chantale has been the most influential member of my support team and has never faltered in making sure I feel that she is behind me. I am incredibly grateful to have her support and wisdom on my journey.

Assistant Coach, Hockey Canada U18 Women‘s National Team 2010 & 2006 Winter Olympics Gold medalist, Women’s National Hockey Team
I had the chance to watch Chantale work with our U18 Women’s National Hockey Team over the course of their journey from summer selection camp to World Champions. Her connection with the players, as a team and as individuals, was paramount in the team achieving its goal. Her knowledge and experience, coupled with a willingness to work with the coaches and adjust or tweak topics as the tournament went on, kept our group ahead of the curve and prepared for every situation they may have faced. Chantale’s delivery is very interactive and unassuming, she’s focused on the athlete and ensuring they’re getting maximum benefit from each session. Maybe the greatest quality I saw was, you learn very quickly that she believes in you but when you’re done working with her, you believe in you!

I was fortunate enough to work with Chantale during my 2011-2012 hockey season. I felt very lucky to have her alongside my teammates and me during the U18 Women’s World Championship as well as with my club team for the duration of our season. She was able to connect with each individual on our team which helped unite us towards our goals. Throughout the entire year, she worked continuously to help us as hockey players succeed and taught us to believe in ourselves. She is incredibly passionate with her work and her positive attitude is contagious. She played a crucial role in my season and the success we had couldn’t have been achieved without her help!

Chantale’s work with us as part of The School of Dance’s Contemporary Dance Programme was an integral part of my three years there. The tools, advice, and resources she provided us with have become invaluable components in my own self care and maintaining my mental health and well-being. The subject matter and depth that we covered and discussed evolved with us, from the beginning of our journey as first year students, to the end of our third year, as we transitioned into the professional dance world. I am so thankful to have had the chance to work with Chantale and believe that she has changed my life as an artist and individual for the better.

Chantale helped me find confidence in some of the most crucial performances of my career. She gave me skills to bounce back after a bad shift so that I could be consistent, and went through plays and situations in such detail so that I could understand who I was as a player. I give credit and many thanks to Chantale for making me a better teammate by instilling a mindset of: regardless of the circumstances, you control your energy and positivity. I was able to improve the mental part of my game with Chantale not only because of her skills and knowledge, but because she is genuine, caring, and trustworthy person. I could not be where I am today without her help.

Chantale, you are so warm and caring that everyone feels completely comfortable sharing with you. You are non-judgmental, understanding, and know when to push and when to back down. You are amazing! We love you! I think that about says it. You truly are an extraordinary person who helps bring out the best in others. I am extremely grateful for this experience. I can’t imagine how I would have gotten through without it. It is through your guidance that I know and believe in myself as an artist. It is through the skills, strategies, books, that you have taught/given me that even though I am nervous for my future, I can’t wait to explore!

Merci beaucoup!!!

Chantale radiates a positive energy that is hard to match. To entice 13 and 14 year old boys to talk about their feelings is not an easy task, yet she does it with patience and compassion. The boys enjoy their sessions and work with her and we appreciate how prepared she always is with her lesson plans. She is an important part of helping them achieve their goals and take their game to the next level.

I have known Chantale for ten years. In that time, we have collaborated on both professional and academic pursuits. Chantale has always been friendly, enthusiastic, genuine, inquisitive, energetic, and welcoming. Chantale goes out of her way to make you feel welcomed and appreciated, and I know she shares this same approach with all whom she works with. Chantale is involved in a number of professional pursuits, which has given her a broad experience base and detailed knowledge in a number of areas. She is constantly learning from her pursuits, and she applies this new knowledge in all the areas in which she is involved. Chantale truly strives to make a difference through the work that she does. I have referred clients to Chantale in the past, and would not hesitate to do the same again!

Chantale is an excellent teacher/consultant, she is very well organized, her objectives and goals always clearly outlined. Her focus and dedication makes her a pleasure to work with. She is spirited, generous, thoughtful and extremely reliable. She is also very dynamic, internally grounded and focused on the task at hand, qualities that are essential in nurturing a group of young dance artists/athletes. Chantale, very sensitive to group dynamics, foresees upcoming issues and puts in place the necessary support systems. She has proven to inspire high achievements from the students; she explains very well the details of the strategies and skills needed to achieve the dancers work and objectives. She has also proven instrumental in guiding the students/dancers to access their peak performance level. Chantale is also fluent in both French and English, which makes for communication with all staff and dancers very accessible. I am positive Chantale would be an excellent addition to your team. She would support the team and their goal with intent and efficacy.

A woman of many of talents with a calm, focused, but also, it seems, endless energy! And wisdom way beyond her years… Chantale has worked with my teenage son on performance for almost a year. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, always extremely positive and open to altering her approach as she gets to know him better. We couldn’t ask for a more dedicated and hard working professional to be working with him. I recently discussed a completely different project with Chantale and was greeted with fantastic enthusiasm! Thank you, Chantale! In my opinion, one of your greatest gifts: I sense that you will be a student of life forever…
